RECENT EVENTS

  • Peter worked with IBRS, Cisco and VMWare to develop and facilitate a series of executive roundtables across Australia and New Zealand. These events explored the business case for virtualisation, the challenges that it presents and discussed an ongoing roadmap for the technology.
  • IBM Australia engaged Peter to chair a Telepresence videoconferencing seminar. This comprised executives based in Australia, Singapore and India. Attendees discussed the impact that the global financial crisis was having on their businesses and how they sought to address the business opportunities and threats presented by globalisation in general.
  • Launch Pad Marketing ran a series of workshops for Allens, a major Asia Pacific law firm, on ways to foster innovation and how it can be encouraged and harnessed by a business.
  • Fairfax Business Media commissioned Peter to review and interpret the results of its annual State of the Nation Asian IT research project. An article based on these findings was published in February in MIS Asia and is available for viewing under the articles section of this web site.
  • Peter Hind delivered a keynote address at the annual itSMF conference in Canberra. This looked at the challenges of securing business engagement in the adoption of ITIL v3.0
  • SAP asked Peter to facilitate a roundtable discussion among CEOs from small and medium businesses to examine the approaches these executives were taking to weathering the challenges presented by the global financial crisis.
  • Klonis and Co Lawyers engaged Peter as an expert witness in a tribunal proceeding which was exploring what constitutes an Internet cafe.
  • Expitris Worldwide Sdn Bhd, a leading Malaysian education and training specialist, and Gulf Future Business, a prominent Bahraini based professional consultancy firm, have both recently hired Mr Hind to deliver his IT Best Practices workshop in their respective countries.
  • Peter Hind worked with Fairfax Business Media to organise and chair the annual CIO Magazine conference in Auckland. In this capacity he introduced Mr John Key, the Prime Minister of New Zealand, as the opening keynote speaker at the conference.
  • Alphabet Media Pte Ltd, the publishers of FutureGov magazine, commissioned Peter to undertake a research project in South East Asia which looked at how public sector IT executives in this region develop and manage IT initiatives. The assignment required Peter to create a survey questionnaire and to analyse and interpret the survey findings. These results were published in a recent White Paper by the company.
